Changing 140 Hydraulic pump
Anyone have tips on removing a leaky 140 hydraulic pump and replacing it with a good one from a parts tractor? Should I take the hydraulic lines from the parts tractor with the pump? It seems to be leaking hydraulic fluid into the engine now? Are there any things to watch out for? How long does it take? Thanks

Do you know the one from the parts tractor is a good one? If it was me, I'd rebuild the one from the parts tractor, swap them out and rebuild the leaker.

Re: Changing 140 Hydraulic pump
Not real familiar with 140, but I assume they are like the Super A, and if it has an auxiliary control tapped off the block, the lines are different than if no auxiliary systems.
If you are not part of the solution,
you are part of the problem!!!

Re: Changing 140 Hydraulic pump
It's just like the Cub, but on the opposite side of the tractor.
You will need to remove the lines completely, because the pump has to slide backwards a few inches to clear the drive gear. Use whichever lines are in better condition when you put it back together.
I'm with the others: While you've got the pump out you "may as well" rebuild it before installing it, regardless of which pump you put back on. Saves dumping the hydraulic oil an extra time when you have to go back and rebuild the pump anyway.

Re: Changing 140 Hydraulic pump
All it needs is a new oil seal so I would rebuild both.

Don't forget to order the gasket for the hyd lines at the block, and o-rings at the pump end.

Edited this for clarity Dale. I threw my boss off today when I said "block" in reference to the TC because most associate "block" with engine.
The pump is the same as a Super A/100/130 and the C/Super C. To clarify that actually, not all are actually the same, some were made from different manufacturers (so the cast shape might be different), but they will all mount the same regardless.
