oil pan question

Postby jdeere86 » Fri Dec 04, 2015 8:33 am

hey all

last spring I changed the gasket on the oil pan and for some reason thought I could get away without using any sealant - anyhow it leaks from a couple of areas - ran it during the summer anyway,

my question is should I change the gasket and oil now before having her sit for the winter or should I wait until the spring? my cub also needs the same treatment

I have looked up and read that it is somewhat of a debate whether or not folks prefer to change oil before or after winter -

any input would be much appreciated

I always do my oil changes in the spring, that way any moisture and all the acids from setting over winter go with the oil. As to the leaks, make sure the ips of the pan are flat and not dimpled.
If you are not part of the solution,
you are part of the problem!!!

John,
It's good to see that you're feeling better!
