My alt. belt broke the other day (the more I look the more I find original parts that just don't work after 65 years LOL) so I need to replace it (it goes from alt. to fan only) and the bigger belt that is going from fan to water pump and then to cank pulley looks old and cracked too so I'm gonna replace it too while at it.(1) From the looks of it I think I need to remove the whole fan assembly to do this. am I right or is there another way. (2)To remove the fan assembly do I need to also remove the radiator? (3) is there a drain on the radiator? and if yes where? (4) What is the belt needed for the water pump/ fan/ crank as it looked wider than most v-belts I've seen.

You just need to loosen the fan assembly and work the belts around the fan, one blade at a time.
Take the hood off and turn the nut on the fan bracket. It similar to an alt/generator bracket in that you loosen the bolt and it can slide around to adjust tension.

Except don't turn the nut. Turn the shaft via the hex on the front side of the bracket. The bracket should hold the nut from turning.
