Super A width

Postby Komatsuna » Mon Jan 12, 2015 8:40 pm

I am a produce farmer. I have a A.C. G. I like it because it is wide. I use a bed system 60in beds and the G straddles it.

I need another cultivator. I found a nice Super A in really nice shape and well cared for from a retired farmer. Runs nice and he took care of it.

I've read the basic info on the super A and it seems that I can make it 64" wide in the front and 68" in the back. What is that measurement taken from the inside of the wheel, the center or the outside? If its the outside, it is not going to wide enough at all based on the tire size.

I need it at least 57" from inside tire to inside tire front and back.

I have to drive 2.5 hours to get the tractor so I want to have all my ducks in a row.

Any input?

Thank you

Devin

The measurement is center to center.
There are two ways to get enough Cubs. One is to continue to accumulate more and more. The other is to desire less.

If the tractor happens to have the adjustable front wheels (lugs riveted to rim rather than loose lugs clamping the rim) there is a bit more flexibility on adjustments than with just an adjustable axle. Then you can go wider than 64" in front. Hopefully the tractor will have 9-24 or 9.5-24 rear tires, which should give you enough clearance. For details (particularly on the adjustable front wheels) look at the Super A Owner's Manual in the PDF manuals above. Look at pages 49-52. Here is a shortcut:
