Not 100% certain but I think the year it changed was mid-49 or 50. That would put yours as having the later style. Like Jim said, the parts catalog showing part numbers and parts diagrams will tell you the exact answer.

Bring on the questions. I know a little bit about Super A's and should be able to help if I am on here and see your posts. 205-368-5339 if you'd like to call and ask a question too. Be happy to help.

It was later than that when they changed. The TC-39C parts book will show when but I think it was more like late ‘51-‘52.

Al is correct. Just looked it up and the change started with tractor serial number 318,310 which would be mid-1951.

Hi guys. It's been a while. Still working on my grandfather's tractor and had a question. I need to know what generator I'm looking for. I have an alternator in the box of parts but I'm looking to take it back to original. I have the bracket for the voltage regulator (which I need at well) so I know it sit separately below the generator instead of mounting on the top. I'm looked at the parts manual but I'm just wanting to confirm that I'm getting the right one. Right now, I believe I'm looking for a Delco Remy 1100501 6v generator, does that sound correct? Thanks guys.

That should be the right generator. Beware that if you get a used generator, it may not have the right pulley. There were two different generator pulleys used on the Super A. The serial number break is in the parts catalog. Also, that generator was used on multiple other tractor models. The other tractors mostly used different pulleys.

Awesome! Thanks for the confirmation and information. There is a pulley in my parts box so maybe I'll get lucky and it'll be the one I need.
