That blade is for a three point hitch. Does your SA have a three point hitch?

He doesn't even have hydraulics or the rear rockshafts to incorporate the 3 point conversion.

In theory, yes. IF you reinstall the hydralics with the rear rock shafts, and IF you get a 3 point hitch conversion (HK-95 by Worksaver or a home fabrication) you can easily use that blade.

This is exactly the why I stated early on that your tractor holds less value than an A in its condition. If you want to do anything with that tractor you need the TC block. Still, DON'T let this discourage you, I'm just being blunt.

I guess I just don't want to waste the money on something I can't use. How easy is a blade like this to find?

a 3 point grader blade? Easy. They are common implements.

Guys, facing my first true problem since purchasing this tractor....its been rather cold here in NY the last few days, yesterday i took the kids outside for a ride and the tractor wouldn't start. I thought maybe i flooded it so I waited a half hour and tried again but nothing! I see some white smoke when it cranks come out of the stack, also when i hit the starter lever it doesnt crank very hard like when i first installed the new battery. I am starting to wonder if my generator is actually charging the battery while running. I don't know what the white smoke indicates and I also dont get why my new battery would be dead unless its not being charged...any help would be greatly appreciated.

the smoke is common. Condensation. Mine does the same thing on a cold day, but goes away after it warms up.

Hard cold starts a sign of poor spark, compression, or both. A cold battery will have trouble turning, but a cold and almost dead battery will give trouble.

Check compression first. Then check the ignition.

Hi to all other happy farmall owners. I am a new member as of tonight. My name is ken and I now reside in Ipswich, Queensland, Australia. I am the proud owner of an A and a Super A. I have had the A for for 50 years and I bought the super A about 3 years ago. I bought the super A in the belief I could put the hydraulics on the A as many years ago I removed the exhaust lift system and through it away. However I put them side by side recently and was confronted with a major difference. The drive shaft tunnel on the A is shorter due to there not needing space for the Hydraulic pump. The holes for the battery box had a different configuration and the mast for the steering column has a totally different attachment to the top of the gearbox. The magneto is also different. I was glad thought to be able to take the starter motor off the Super A and fit to the A, NO MORE CRANKING at my age, although the A could sit for months and would always start on one and half cranks. The photo above shows the provision on the extended tunnel for the hydraulics. hope this may help. Best wishes to my new friends. KGB

Welcome Aussie, what photo are you referring to? Also the A lacks the flat area on the torque tube (tunnel?) and the engine doesn't have the area cast into it for the hydraulic pump

Hey guys, its been a while since i last posted...im having some trouble with my SA and was hoping some of you experts could lend me your ear. I recently started up the SA after a long cold winter...i full charged up my 6v battery, gave it some gas and fired her up, she gave me a fight, but she fired. I took it for a short ride then let it idle for a little bit. After that I let it sit for a night and went to start it the next day, but when i pushed the starter lever i heard an arch and got nothing from the starter. I visually didn't see a spark, but i clearly heard the arch. I tried a few more times to attempt to fire it, but it gives me zero response when i push the lever. If i let it sit for a bit and try again i can hear the arch sound again but no sparks are seen. I don't want to destroy anything so i stopped, i checked all the fuses, looked for any signs of blackening around the wires, and i can't find anything...no evidence of what could be wrong. Here are some details, the day this started to happen it was raining, the system is 6v w/generator, and the wiring is all original(except the kill switch and lights). Any help would be appreciated.

Sounds like you have a bad connection somewhere. If you can hear it arcing, then you should be able to feel a hot spot. Feel all the connectors and you might be able to find the bad one.

Short of that, go one at a time and clean each connector, nut and bolt, plus all mating surfaces. MAKE THEM SHINE!!

Good luck!

Clean the battery cables where they connect to the battery first and try it. If no go clean the battery cables at their other ends--where the ground cable bolts to the frame and where the other cable connects to the starter.
