On the Super C, it was just gone. No sign of it.

The thrust washer rides between two thick flat washers IIRC. Are those in there?

What are the circumstances leading up to the throttle issue?

Nope...I took mine off and it is tight.......but you can do it....just watch for the little spring shaft ......it poped out on me....luckily I noticed it....
