Super A 3-pt hitch lifting limits and its it worth it?

So, I've been bouncing the idea of getting the 3 point hitch kit for my Super A. I know the offset PTO rules out the use of many of them, but I'm more interested in things like a york rake, cultivators, single gang harrow, ect. I was looking at the Worksaver 3pt hitch conversion. It looks pretty straightforward and doesn't require any permanent modification.

My question really comes down to, with the type of implements I'm looking to use, is it a good idea, and can the TC handle it?

The only rear mounted implement I have for my Super A is the A-189 single bottom 2 way plow, the other thing I have is my snow plow, which this wouldn't affect.

I searched, but couldn't find any topics that really had the answers I was looking for.

I have seen Super A's etc with the three point conversion, and they work ok but not great. IMO, I would stick to the standard hitch, or find a fast hitch off a 100/130/140. You can get the implements you describe in fast hitch, in your area you may have to look/travel but they are there. They still make new rakes, bush hogs, etc. that are fast hitch.

The offset PTO is usually not an issue. That's what universal joints are for. You will have a problem with a fast hitch and trailing PTO implements, but mounted stuff like bush hogs, etc. doesn't matter.

On the cultivator, there is no way I would ever try a three point cultivator on a cultivision tractor. Find a set of 144 cultivators. You will pay more but it's totally worth it.

Frankly, what you choose will depend on how much you are willing to spend and when you need to actually use the tools.

If you want/need to use the tools NOW, and not spend several years collecting them, then 3pt is the way to go. It will work well enough to get the job done.

3pt will cost more but you won't spend nights up praying for someone to post a 1pt york rake for sale within 500 miles so you can get the lawn finished before Mrs havoc1482 kicks you out of the house for good!
