Is there a manual lift for an A that looks exactly like a Cub's? Buddy of mine has one and said it came with that lift. I didn't have my cub one handy to compare. I told him I think it's for a cub. Thanks

The ones I have seen don't look much like a Cub manual lift.

I have never seen a manual lift on an A, except for the one Woods sold to go with their mowers.

The manual lift for the Farmall A is definitely NOT identical to the one for the Cub; the lift for the A bolts to the left side of the torque tube rather than to the top of the transmission case, and allows for semi-independent operation of the left and right ends of the rockshaft. In another thread I have posted a photo of my 1945 Farmall A with hand lift and A-138 cultivator (well, the toolbars at least), along with images from a McCormick-Deering cultivator manual:
viewtopic.php?f=170&t=79636There is an optional independent lift for the rear rockshaft which is somewhat similar in appearance to the Cub lift, but it bolts to the right side of the platform.
