Easy fix for old oil canister gaskets

I got to pickin on an old hard rubber o ring for the oil filter canister, what a pain, well I shot some 2 + 2 carb cleaner on it and let it sit for 15 or 20 minutes and it came out with no problem. really softens the old rubber.
