Didn't the super AVI also have the foot throttle and square front axle like the super AI?

All the AV's Super or otherwise had the square front axle.

I am not sure there was a Super AVI(AV-eye). The Super AV1 (AV-one) had the 123 engine and factory waterpump with the taller radiator, like the Super A1 (A-one).

My vin tag is missing so I'm thinking if I have a water pump it's an AV1. have never seen hood markings AV-1 so I assume there was no designations as such. I'd like to replace my vin tag. I believe the vin # is stamped under the #1 cylinder. Did IH have different style vin tags like the cubs as the years went on? Thanks

The number under #1 cylinder is the engine serial number. It will be close to the tractor number but it won't match. If you have a Super AV-1 (one) there will be a good-sized gap between the touch control block and the gas tank. The grille will be taller, radiator will be taller too. All the casting codes should be Z codes. Its likely you have a regular Super AV that someone added a water pump to. They will bolt right on in place of the lower water inlet on the engine.

Post a pic of the gas tank and T/C from the side about 10 feet away and I can tell you if it has a 123 engine in it.

Here are some pictures. I am using AV1 and AV2 to designate the two different tractors. The vin tag on AV2 is on the bell housing. Also, the bottom of the grill between the last slot and the seem looks wider on av2 vs av1. Also, the ser # on AV2 has me perplects. I can only make out 4 digits but I do see HC. Thanks for the help. AV1 is a regular Super AV. I think AV2 is a 100 or 130 high clear, the Super A/AV never had their tags on the bellhousings but the 100-130-140 did. I think they must have put Super A tin on it. What do the casting codes on it look like?

I can not tell for sure, can not see the space between the tank and the T/C very good But it looks like there is not much space in between if it is close between the bottom of the tank and the top of the T/C it is a 113

Why are there two different grills?

Along with the mix-n-match already mentioned on AV2, it appears that the fuel tank came off an earlier Super A. The hood and grille probably came off a Super C. The hood is running down hill to the back from grille level to meet up with the tank.

I don't think they are, 'least not the earlier 123's. It looks taller because the hood is setting taller. As Jim said I think AV2 might be a frankentractor.
