Value of this Super A

Postby cub47 » Mon May 28, 2012 8:55 pm

I had an individual approach me about buying this Super A tractor and blade, my problem is I have no experience or knowledge involving any tractors other than the Cubs, so I am looking for opinions, which I know will vary, on what this particular tractor may be worth? The engine has not been rebuilt, but it has new tires all around and some other cosmetic items were replaced. It is supposed to be in good operating condition.

Any feedback would be appreciated, thanks.

Price would be comparable to a Cub in similar condition, with the same attachments, maybe a couple hundred more. See if the left hand rear wheel will rock side to side in the housing. Not a deal breaker necessarily but something to be aware of. Looks line a nice tractor but of course new paint can hide a lot.....

Nice looking tractor. Is it a working tractor or just for show? Around here about $2200 IF the new tires were not made in China.

If the tires are new, they are made in China. New tires are new tires.......

Well that factory front blade in michigan will bring you $500-$700 un painted. that is the prices I got for the last 3 blades I sold. I would love to have that tractor. I bet the guy could get $2500 for the tractor with out the blade.
but of course when you want to buy something you don't want to spend that much lol!
very nice looking tractor you have an easy $1500 in tires and front blade just my opionion! People will tell you the front blades are not worth that much but just try to find one for a Super A when you want one.
If the price is right jump on it! it is twice the tractor over the cub. I love my cubs but I will take my Super a any day. If you want to cut grass this has a lot more power!
Let us know if you buy it.

Since that's my tractor in the picture, I wanted to make a trade and cash for Cubguy47's 1961 yellow cub with quick hitch. What would be a fair trade for both of us? I bought the blade from cjpenny. It has never been restored, it mowed grass all it's life, and was painted here and there as needed. I know the history of this tractor from 1953 and I can prove it. It never worked in field work.

It would be more fair if you mentioned all the new stuff installed plus pictures of everything.

New: fanbelt, waterpump, seat and springs, oem wiring harness, lights, battery,tires-front and rear, tune up.

Rebuilt: carb, generator, Touch Control Unit.

wheel weights all around, very late serial no. added hydraulics to the rear.

I didn't realize that tractor had rear remote hydraulics that is awsome you should put a power angle on the front blade. I also didn't realize that was the front blade I sold early this spring.

Fair for both of you should be what ever you both feel good about at the time of the trade!

From the looks of everything, the new parts, the aux. hydraulics, and the condition you say it's in......I'd give $2,800-$3,200 for it anyday, and know others who would too!~

Is this generator 12V?

What would be cheaper/better, an alternator or a generator like this one?

twotone,
That is a beauty tractor.
It is the Uncle of my 130.
I have a couple 12vdc starter/generators for 10hp Briggs engines.
I suppose if the pulley can be fit to the shaft it might work, although maybe not enough rpms.

That's out of my league. I know 6 volt like the back of my hand, and don't plan on changing any of my tractors. Both my 6 volt tractors start faster than my 12 volt lo boy 154.
