Is there ANY evidence of a foot accelerator? Maybe an extra slot in the floor?

dusty, Ya I'm happy with it. Yellow would be proper but its gonna be red. It could be corrected anytime down the road with a new coat of paint.
Paint is reversible not like the loss of parts or carving up that was previously done. So I won't feel too guilty about it.
Even if its red I will be looking to bring it back to original where ever else I can or at least gather the parts so it can be done later if desired.

Ya me too. I'm having a ball doing the research on this and provoking the pros here to show us what they know...and the other rookies like me too!

Mike, the pedal would have been mounted in between the brake pedals. In the three photos you posted earlier, you can barely make it out. It's kinda like the pedal on the tractor you just posted, just with a round plate at the end, and it would extend under the floorboard instead on next to it.

If you look closely between the brake pedals (and under the guy's right foot) in this picture, you can see the foot accelerator. Also, on the front side of the steering shaft support right next to the manual speed control, you can see a bit of the mechanism that lets each control override the other. There are 2 pair of holes near the front edge your platform, one near the clutch pedal, the other between the brake pedals. They are where the brackets for the foot accelerator bolt on. I think they are present on all platforms.

By the way, I also can see some yellow paint on your right final drive.

i don't recall the exact numbers, but about 6,000 industrial A's and about 7500 Super A industrials. it seems that some were red and some were yellow. I'm working on a Super A industrial...it will be yellow so it stands out from the crowd.

i'll take a couple of pictures of the foot throttle tonight.

I may return it to yellow one day and if I had a bunch of tractors it'd be yellow now. Its gonna be red in the spring.
I just found a parts source. Its going to be a two hour drive, four round trip but this fellow has a bunch of things I need. One stop shopping.
One question he has fenders but they are from a super A. They should be the same right?
He did have a pair from a "B" but I didn't call him quick enough, he scrapped it. Ouch!

After dinner I'll be out gently chipping away the crusty paint that covers a large tank sticker. What i can read its say something about limiting speed and making sure to lock the brake pedals. Its black with yellow or white letters. I don't think I've seen a repo of it. There is another smaller decal red and white on the back of the tank.

Although the A did not have a hydraulic system there was a lift-all option which ran off the exhaust. A neighbor had one on an A I used a few times to rake but never used the lift. I've been told they were not very good. I wasn't sure if it was original or after market but it was an option which I found at http://www.farmall.winnfreenet.com . Vern

super A fenders will fit, but are different in that there are 3 holes and an indented section to allow the rear lift to mount. those holes are not on a regular A.

i'm having a computer problem that wont let me upload from the camera to the computer. i'll get it sorted out and upload the pic's.

there is also a return spring from the arm under the floorboard up to the rear bracket for the battery box. that i haven't installed yet.

Thanks Art, I can see where the holes for the pedal mount is in my tractors floor pan. The foot rest would probably not be there. I like the linkage but wonder about the ratchet part of the hand lever. It looks like you could throttle it up with your foot but the ratchet would hold it there. (?)

I do need a fan shroud but this say super "A". do you guys know if this would fit my "A"?
I don't think that bracket shown is on my tractor, do I need it? Not even sure where it goes.

I don't know if the shroud will fit your A, although I it should. The bracket I believe is a stand off brace between the radiator and the front of the block.

I got a chance to look things over again. i don't need the bracket as it is there after all.
Jim, turns out you were right even though the serial # say "IAA" and there is federal yellow on everything under the crispy top coat of red...there is some sort of red to be found under the yellow paint too.
So...where they all painted red regardless then the internationals were pulled and painted yellow? Or were some of the international "A"s red???

On another note, I had the tractor out to get gas a mile away into town. Ran it up in 4th and found it to shimmy badly at speeds over a fast walk. Can the slop in the steering be taken up?

Ok and back to tractor puzzles. Here are two decals are on the top of he tank behind the gas cap. I chipped away what I could of the paint that covered them. Still I can't match them to any repo decals.
One seems to say safety first and lock the pedals before going fast in high gear(?)

artc-- Nice detail on some fine work on your International.I'm curious where you got the production figures for the industrial Super A. Can my International Harvester Tractor Data book be that far off? The book shows what appears to be a red Int.Super A with a highway mower(like the one in this thread currently on ebay)and lists a production number of 838. I've seen a few at Red Power shows in the past but only have seen two in NH in the last 15 years.
