The A has an overhead valve engine. The valve cover is on top of the engine.

thanks big dog. a friend of mine has an A he is working on and he thinks the valves are stuck, i didn't know if it had the same setup as a cub or not.

Remove the valve cover and you will see everything -

my freind got the a to run, he said he will need some parts for it, who would you "A "owners recommend? oh, by the way the serial number on it is like 12XXX, so it is a 1940.
