Just got me an "A"

Postby shoddymill » Wed Jan 23, 2008 7:16 pm

I just picked up my first Farmall. I have admired them for years and have been impressed by how nice the little Cub motor runs in my Lo-boys. I picked it up on ebay seemed like a good deal.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=260203035452&ssPageName=STRK:MEWA:IT&ih=016

One of the things that I would like to do with it is to get a plow and drag disc to be able to work the garden. I am not too familiar with these but I think that this is possible. Could any of you set me in the right direction as to what I need?

Thanks in advance!

Thanks for the feedback - I thought it looked like a nice unit to start with. I am planning to restore it, I'm not planning to go overboard though as I plan to use it as well. I have learned from a past experience that I you make something too pretty, you are afraid to mess it up (I have had a "like-new" '61 Cub Cadet sitting in the corner of my garage for about six years now).

Also, thanks for the tip on ytmag.com. I have been there many times but never looked at the classifieds, turns out there are a few plows within a short drive for the A right now.

I got someone to haul up the A from PA this Saturday, can't wait!

Thanks again ant talk to you guys later!

Thanks Andrew, that is pretty close and I'll probably take you up on your offer. Do you have any implements for your A? I am planning to get some but I don't see much info out there as to how they are hooked up or used so I will definitely need some advice with that.
