I wnnt to look at another CUB yesterday and the guy also has a A or SA. Being a CUB person I know very little about the A. What I did see was that it had no starter only hand crank. When did IH start putting them on? The tractor is stuck and rough but it does come with several implements.

If no starter and no hydraulics it will be an A. I don't know when the starter was added. Dan

The starter was an option, available after some time in early 1941. Hydraulics were only available on the Super A.

The starter was availlable for an A in March of 1940, but if it was not ordered the torque tube had no starter hole until 1942 #5xxxx. We have a pair consecutive # 1940 As hand crank only that we have set ujp for my twin boys. 8)
