At an auction an average Super A with side dresser went for $2200. The cultivators for it sold seperatly went for $700. Another auction coming up. Are these prices about right? Thanks

With the current antique tractor craze going on, prices are going to be high. $2200 for a running Super A with what I understand is a rather rare implement (to find complete, at least) is not bad, though.

My own gut feeling about an average bare Super A is $1500-$1750 depending on the tires.

It seems that prices have risen a lot since this post was made. I regularly see SA's with no attachments at or above 2k in Michigan.

Been watching prices for awhile, a good running average patina Super A goes from $2,500 - $3,500 by me in the N.J. / Pa. area.
That’s not saying a deal can’t pop up. I recently snagged a ‘53 with front weights and cultivator mounts. It’s engine runs really well but there’s a rattle in the trans that will need a little TLC.
$1,000 brought it home.
It was a bit of an impulse buy figuring if I came to my senses I could easily get my money back.
It’d be my luck the “tractor craze” would move on the the next thing if I did decide to part with it.

I was at an auction a couple of weeks ago here in NEPA,and this Super A went for 2200.00 with mower .
I bought my orginal Super A with sickle bar mower a couple of years ago for 1000.00
Location has also to do with price? I think.

Wow, I probably would have brought that home as well. Great deal! :D

I just got a 130 ( not an A) for $800 with 59" woods deck in very good shape. Carb was in pieces and a price of the governor lever was broken but the po purchased a replacement part. Did not hear it run yet but it looked as if is was well cared for. Daughter purchased her father's house and father did not want it anymore. I bought it from a lawnmower mechanic that was asked to remove it from the property. We will see

I do not usually look at the A/100/130/140 but I have an IH1000 loader and wanted to move it over to a larger tractor. I have not seen any in this family of tractor at that price that was not a basket case. Thought it was worth the risk. I will see.

Super As-140s tend to hold their value in the Southeast pretty well, with 140s bringing the higher price. I do think Super A prices are a little softer than they were.

The 130 looks like an overgrown stainless Cub (55-57). It’s a good looking tractor. I believe it actually is rated at 1 hp more than the 140 too.
I don’t think I’ve seen as many 130’s come along as A’s or 140’s either. I also think for $800 you got a really good deal on it. Another nice thing is a lot of things that fit other tractors fit it too. Weights - A, B, SA, 100, 130, and 140 all the same for the rear. A grader blade setup will fit all except the B. Maybe some cultivators.
If you do a search for any of that on Craigslist switch it up to those different models and you may find another good deal.

Thanks. My plan is a move my IH1000 loader over to the 130 and I found a 60"woods bush hog pto driven tow behind. This will for clearing a path for my cub mowers

I agree about the 130. I have seen 10 140s for sale within 30 miles of me over the past couple of years but very few 130s and none at this price.

I think you’ll be very happy with it running the tow behind mower/bushhog.
Out of the tractors in that group of tractors I think I’d list them easiest first to hardest to find as follows... Early IA, A, AV, 140, SA, 130, International 140, then the 100 being the hardest.
This is how it seems to go by me and your more likely to find yellow paint as original underneath than red.

This 1970 140 I’m working on is original and never repainted. The valve cover, grille bracket and under the hood have yellow paint, I assume it’s primer.

I really like my Corsicana tow behind....I use it with the SC...it is hard on the old girl lifting a 5ft and carrying it across town for 5 miles.

I doubt it’s primer. It more than likely it was painted that federal yellow as per purchase order by state or municipal highway department use cutting roadside grass. Some others served duty as tugs in factories, airports or docks.

I knew I had seen somewhere yellow primer was used on later tractors, go to page 2 of this thread and see what Jim Becker wrote
