Why are wiring harnesses so expensive?

Figured I'd replace all the wires at once until I saw the price!!!!

Now I'll make my own, but I can't help wondering why they're so expensive? With a jig and some measurements, surely they can be whipped up faster than would be necessary to justify ~$200!

 They are only expensive if you are buying them. They are a fair price if you are selling them though.

To buy restoration parts, such as cloth covered harneses to match the originals you have to pay premium bucks, to get modern functional ones, they are much more reasonable.
