Bypass block available in Canada?
Hi everybody;
Just wondering if anyone knows of a source for a bypass block to add auxiliary hydraulics to a Super A that's available in Canada?
I see that there are a couple of people offering them on ebay.com, but don't offer shipping to Canada. Before I go looking for options to indirectly get them (freight forwarder, friendly US neighbor), I thought I'd check if there was an easy source on this side of the border.
While I'm at it, if people have recommendations for Super A parts in Canada, I'd appreciate the help. I'm sure I'll be needing a few bits here and there.
Thanks in advance,
Brian.

A former member of this forum lived in Dieppe, NB. I seem to recall him having a nearby CaseIH dealer. That was a few years ago and things may have changed since then. Having said that, most maintenance parts should be available at a good auto parts store. Other things, you may have to resort to mail order from the US. There are other members from CA, who may be able to suggest in-country sources.

If I am not mistaken the bypass block is the same for the cub and A-140 http://www.tmtractor.com/new/hy/012fp.htm
When you only have 9 horsepower you need to know the names of all of the ponies!

Yes but . . .
The IH bypass block (which the TM part is identical to) works on either the Cub or the A-140. This is done by having additional material and holes that are only used on one model tractor or the other. If you look at the installed pictures on the TM site, you can see the block extends beyond the area covered by the manifold.
Other blocks made by other companies/people may not have all the features of the IH block. They may be specific to one model tractor or another. Don't just buy any block from any source and assume it will work on your tractor.

Jim makes a very good point. It's worth a call or email to TM to verify that this bypass block will work on your particular tractor.

Re: Bypass block available in Canada?
From TM's website regarding their bypass block:
There are multiple mounting holes in the by-pass block, as the IH 1000 loader can also be used with the Farmall / International 140 (see pictures at bottom of this page). The by-pass block can also be used on tractors with similar hydraulic systems. You will have to supply your own gaskets and bolts for this application

Re: Bypass block available in Canada?
Yes, TM's works on both systems. I believe the complete list is standard Cub, offset Cub Lo-Boy, Super A (and A1), 100, 130, 140, 200, 230. I'm probably forgetting something.

Forgive my ignorance if I'm wrong; but I assumed the bypass block was an aftermarket type thing, and wouldn't be available from CaseIH?
There are a couple of CaseIH dealerships in Nova Scotia. The closest is about a 2 hour drive away.

Does TM ship to Canada? Their website doesn't list that as an option.
I think, if the only option is to get it from the States, then I'll work on getting the version specifically designed for the SuperA. Just means either doing a freight forwarder (extra money), or persuading a neighbor to bring it back from the States next time they travel up here.

A phone call or email can quickly answer that.

My comment was related to your question about where to find parts, not the block.
