Is this for an A only? And could someone explain how it attaches? If under the belly(which I assume is the location), why only for an A? And could someone explain the cultivator model designations A-144, 1-F144, and No. 144? That’s how it’s listed in CU-4 revision manual in the manual section

Re: Rotary Weeder
Should not be tractor specific. The two uprights should go in place of two standards, one each side of the row. Front is to the left in your pictue. Exactly how is unclear to me. Is part of it hinged? Can the star wheels on the right be flipped to the other side? The star wheels look too high relative to the mounting bracket.
A-144 -- 1-row cultivator for the Super A.
1A-144 -- slightly newer 1-row cultivator for the Super A and 100. Most parts are the same.
144 -- newer yet 1-row cultivator for the Super A, 100, 130, 140. Most parts are still the same.

Re: Rotary Weeder
Jim, thank you for your reply. Nothing is hinged. Looks to be assembled correctly to me. I am standing to the side and quite a bit higher than the unit, so the angle isn’t good. I guess there is a possibility the uprights could’ve been cut, but I really don’t think so. I have had this on a cub quite a few years ago and gave it a pass or two. Seemed to do fine. When I tell folks I’ve had it on a cub, they respond it’s for an A. Granted, I’ve only received a couple of responses over the years. Again, thanks

The right upright is clipped by the edge of the picture. Leaves only the left one to judge the length. The people that said they were for an A probably only saw them on an A. That specific variation may have only been used on earlier machines (A, not Super A) and been phased out by the time the Cub came out.

Neatp little attachment.
Never saw one out in the wild!
Sure would like to give one a try, and see how much it reduces in row weeds.

If you want it on a cub and it fits a cub who cares what it originally fit? The PC police? I can't tell the difference of the shanks and shovels for a cub, an H nor an M and I have cultivated with all three. Vern

Sorry for the photography Just happened to be a pic in my phone when I thought about posting this thread.
Thanks for your opinion on this. I like the piece and just wanted to see if I could find out more about it

Re: Rotary Weeder
neat way to break the crust around the plants in the row! HMMMM, getting ideas here to make one for my cub!
The cultivator for my A is not complete so I never got to put it on, but the attachments look about the same.
