Super A Implements

Postby CDKL » Thu Jun 16, 2022 8:17 pm

Does anyone know what the model numbers are for the plows, and disc harrows that were made for the SA? I know the Cub moldboard was a 193 and 194, and the disc were 23A I believe. I just cannot seem to find a lot on for the SA. Thanks in advance!

The cultivators was A-144

Blade might be A-60
Sickle mower A-22
Plow A-193

You might want to contact Dale Finch and ask her some questions!

As far as I know Lt. Mike has that manual. Sorry, since all I ever did with my SA was mow with a Woods 59, I can't help.

I suggest sending a PM to Super A (Al Jones)...he has and uses SA's here in NC.

There was no disk harrow "made for the SA". IH made several models of tractor disk harrows. Some of them, including the number 9 and number 10-A were made is sizes as small as 5 feet. These were appropriate for use with a Super A.

If you want to see more extensive lists of implements made specifically for the Super A, parts catalog SAI-1 and later revisions will list quite a few.

For non fast hitch tractors sold in the USA:

1 Row Cultivators A-144, or International-144 (these would be later models from 140 era )
4 Row Cultivator A-452
Single Plow A-193
Double Plow A-295
Two Way Plow A-189
Two Disc Plow A-151
Single Gang Lift Disk Harrow A-38
1 Row Forward Mounted Planters Planters A-177 A-178, A-179, A-180 ( there were earlier planter models, but they are scarce)
Two Row Rear Mounted Planter A-Cub-201

There are many others IH Implements, and aftermarket as well, that's just what I can think of off of the top of my head.

Try this, it's a "General Line" Catalog. It has almost if not everything Farmall/IH made that year. I like looking at the 1949 as it's the newest they have. Even though it doesn't have my A-295 double plow w/ super chief point or shows my style of slat type moldboard. But it is just like the single plow just with all the parts for the 2nd offset plow not shown. But I digress, here is the link n go to page 40 in the pdf, page 7m in the catalog. To see the list of Super A implements. https://content.wisconsinhistory.org/digital/collection/ihc/search/searchterm/general%20catalog/field/title/mode/exact/conn/and/cosuppress/

PS go to implement section and have fun wishing you could find all the other implements that could work on an SA, like a one row potato digger, manure spreader (100 is Cub sized, 200 is more SA, but any pulled implement that cubs can pull an SA can too, including harrows & disc's) but not the other way around. As my old 6.5 ft drawbar disc w/ 18" disc's is hard to pull. I can run in 2nd at full speed but engine dies if in 3rd. My Cub couldn't even pull it in 1st gear. I can also send pics of how to modify a bushog to work on drawbar. It even lifts up but I wouldn't suggest a 6'HD as even w/ front weights it will pop a wheelie if you let out clutch too fast in 2nd or higher. I'd go with a 5' or get the cheap lightweight 6' not the HD like me LOL
