One wire alternator

Postby Dusty B » Mon Jul 05, 2021 7:06 am

Recommendation for one wire alternator ? See lots of use of the Delco 10si - is that the simplest, most reliable, economical unit?? For A, no big electrical demand, mag ignition! Easiest to mount?

Dusty, the 10si has been an absolute rock, through the years, simple single wire hook-up, inexpensive etc. The same holds true of the Mini Denso, either will work quite well, it’s a matter of preference. Either one will require some degree of mounting fabrication but a simple mounting can sometimes be done with nothing more than threaded rod, nuts, washers, spacers, etc. I’ve been using the Mini Denso, mainly for it’s small size and appropriate 35 amp output. It fits easily under the Cub hood but you have more room so it’s totally your choice.

Agree with Gary.

Delco 10si, available at auto parts store. I use the Delco on my WD Allis. Lot of room, easy mount.

Save the old generator. You may need to swap pulleys to match the tractor's fan belt.
I have an excuse. CRS.
