Battery for Super A

Postby MarkAkerman » Mon May 03, 2021 11:07 am

I need a good reference for a 12Volt Super A battery that will fit inside a new battery box. For a 52. Thanks in advance. Mark

Same answer as a Cub battery.

Edit: Rats, that's the 6-volt answer.

Here is a 12-volt answer given for a 130.

Between group 26 and 26R, I'd get whichever one puts the hot lug in the front right corner of the box so the cable to the starter connects in the original place.

I see Don answered while I was editing this.

I added a battery box when I did a 12 volt conversion last year. Here's a diagram that shows the battery I used. It fit just fine, and the positive battery terminal sits on the forward end of the box.

Exploding batteries!

Re-read Jim's post. It wasn't the brand that caused the problem, it was because they were old. It's best not to scare someone off from a manufacturer for something that can happen to any brand.

That was meant with a bit of sarcasm!

But HAD both batteries come from the same manufacture, then I would steer clear of that brand, old or not!

While Jim did have two different model batteries, the possibility exists that even with different brand labels on them, that it is possible they was made by the same manufacturer!
