Cracked Zenith Carb Discharge Nozzle?

I drug home a Super A a month or so ago that I wanted some parts off of. Long story short, Once I got it home I realized it's too nice to part out. It has the correct Touch Control unit for my '47 Super A so it'll swap that, but I think I'm gonna keep it.....

Anyhow I got it to run, but it won't run well unless the choke is about 1/2--3/4 closed. Full open, it labors and sputters. Close the choke a little and it runs beautifully.

I discovered the discharge nozzle is cracked. I have the carb apart and soaking in a bucket of cleaner again, but would this be the problem?

That thing is nasty looking, I wonder how it got into that condition! I ,too, think that may be the cause of your problem.
