Super A hood emblem

Postby Riverman » Sun May 17, 2020 8:05 am

I have a super A serial number 335208 with the distillate engine. Not sure which hood emblem is correct. It appears its either the spelled out farmall one or the square IH one. I see pictures in my manual showing both ways. The tractor is a 1952. I have both types of emblems. Is either one correct for this tractor?

All Super As had the square IH emblem.

Pics please! I have a '48 distillate burner. By '52 the vast majority were gas.

Will send pictures later. Does anybody know what serial numbers the white demo tractors were? My 52 is definitely a complete (except for the heat shield around the manifold} working tractor still with 6 volt positive ground, small starting tank, adjustable heat manifold, and a distillate carburetor.
I have owned the tractor since 1976. The tractor runs good on straight diesel once warmed up. The reason I ask about the white demo serial numbers was because I see some white grayish spots under the paint. I always thought this was primer from a previous paint job.

White demos were only built during the first quarter of 1950. The "accepted" serial number range is 281269--285298 but it's almost certain that not all of those tractors were white.
