On my SA I keep seeing oil leaking out of the inspection plate on the torque tube. Its fresh clean oil so I think its from the rear main. Any tips, pics etc? Is there a newer style seal as I think the old one was rope type seal.?.?
If I have to split the tractor to fix seal I'll also replace the starter gear on the clutch as it has a worn spot on it and is missing a few teeth. Should I also replace the clutch once in there (my thinking is replace now so I don't have to split it again to do clutch later)

Re: Rear Seal
Can you determine for sure it is engine oil from the rear engine seal, and not gear oil from the front transmission seal? My SA needed a rear split to replace the front transmission seal, but it was mostly leaking from below the rear of the clutch housing.

Re: Rear Seal
It's definitely oil, my tranny oil is good but not as clean & fresh looking as this is. I just changed oil to 10W-30 synthetic. Tranny gear oil is a few years old with about 70 hrs on it.
