Super A hyd temp gauge

Hi
Just bought a replacement hydraulic temp gauge with brass housing.
Has a brass bolt but the bolt is too short to go through the hydraulic lever hardware.
Was a brass bolt standard for this tractor?
Or can I just use a steel bolt and paint red. Want to keep to original as much as possible.

A fine thread steel bolt was standard.
