Factory Rear View Mirror?

Postby w30bob » Mon Oct 22, 2018 10:08 am

Hi Guys,

Check out the pics. The first thing I was going to do when I got this 140 home on Saturday was to take off and toss this silly rear view mirror, as I'm not a big fan of add-ons and bubba mods. With wrench in hand and ready to start unbolting my eye caught the little decal on the back of the gas tank. Now why would bubba put a decal on the gas tank telling him how to adjust the mirror? Everyone knows you just loosen the nut, and if it's aftermarket it would say that either on the package or the installation instructions that came with the mirror. So my little brain got to wondering...........could this have been a factory or dealer option? If you put an aftermarket rear view mirror on something you own would you put a decal on telling you how to adjust it? Just seemed too weird. So before I yank and toss it........any chance this is factory???

thanks,
bob

After market. If it were IH it would have been red. The statement about vehicular width would pretty much rule out a mirror on a tractor.
There are two ways to get enough Cubs. One is to continue to accumulate more and more. The other is to desire less.

Barnyard,

BINGO! Thanks for that. So what you're saying is if my dumb-ass had actually READ the sticker......it would have been obvious. I got a feeling it's going to be one of those Mondays. But I'm still going out to get a PowerBall and MegaMillions ticket!

Thanks for the quick reply,
bob

I've seen those to add to trucks when towing a trailer. the sticker is included to be put on mirror as federal laws mandated the "things in mirror may be closer" so dumb ppl adding em don't think all those small cars they see are toys following em LOL

Thanks for posting that picture. I think I'll make a copy for my Cub. Looks like it might be nice for road travel and when I grade the cemetery drives. I think I'll pass on the goofy little spot mirror though. I drove a company van with those little ones and they were useless. John
