What is this on drawbar????

Postby BullDAWG » Tue Oct 02, 2018 4:08 pm

I'm not sure what the "C" shaped piece is bolted to drawbar, if anyone knows what it is for please tell me. I first thought it was for a swinging drawbar but after looking at PDF's its not for that. I don't want to get rid of it if I can use it or if someone has an implement that needs it and I can help em out. But for now its in the way to put implements on drawbar. Any help would be appreciated.

The drawbar appears to be for a tractor bigger than a Cub. SA,140?

oops ur right, its off my SA. I'm adding a A-295A 2 bottom plow and need it reversed and floating for that and the plow bolts on where the "C" is now. But I forgot I was in cub section as I bounced between here n SA-140 sections reading posts and posted this in wrong spot :( sry

I beleave that is a swinging drawbar, missing the bar that will pivot along the curved piece.

if it is then its not IH made, the factory one looks like this.....

swinging_drawbar.jpg

the bar bolts to finals in front of drawbar and the swing part swivels on it and the end goes past the normal drawbar. But who knows it may have been a homemade one and now is missing the swing-arm part. But I just want to make sure it isn't factory (IH) made for something and get rid of it or store it for 20 years and never know what is was for.

I would hang on to it for a while. You will probably figure out what it is for. I have seen that piece before but don’t know what it’s for.

I have seen that in another photo somewhere...just don't remember where. Maybe on a tractor on Craigslist... :?
Maybe it will come to me, or someone else will know, and save me from the strain!

Well guess I'll store it for awhile as I still don't know what or why it was on the drawbar.

I may be wrong but I think it's part of the hitch for a King tandem disk harrow, or something similar.
