Hi Guys,
I found a '40 Farmall A Instruction Manual online (ebay) but really don't want to spend $65 for a photocopy if someone has a scanned copy of one on here that would be willing to share. I checked the uploaded documents in the Quick Links and this one isn't listed. I don't know if this manual is available from vendors or if the seller on Ebay just made a copy of his own personal manual........but if anyone has a digital copy can they upload it to the Quick Links section for the rest of us to see? If no one has one I'll bite the bullet and cough up the dough.....but would rather spend the bucks on an early A steering wheel (like in the pic).
thanks,
bob

You might check with Binder Books and see how their new one compares in price, if nothing else comes through.

Hi Bob,
I did check Binder and this one wasn't listed on their site. They only had a later reprint of the combo A and Super A manual. I also checked online and this manual is nowhere to be found. This one might be a tough one to find.
Thanks,
Bob

This is probably a later edition. But it is the correct Owner's Manual for A but not Super A.

Hi Jim,
Understand. The reason I want that particular manual is I want to see what pics are in it. Like the front cover, which has an illustration of the early steering wheel. The later versions all show the metal spoked wheel. I'm still learning about the early A differences and want to see as many of them as I can. Don't think the later manuals would let me do that.
thanks,
bob

Hi Bob. I have a 9-8-39 Serviceman's Guide for Farmall A and it shows a 2spoke steering wheel and a fully round front rim for the tire to bolt to. The pic on the inside back cover also shows a bigger diameter rear wheel weight. Soon as the pics are transferred into my email from my phone, I'll post the pics.

Hi Guys,
An original one of these manuals in good shape just popped up on Epay......so it should be here in a few days. I'll see if I can scan it and upload it for everyone to see.
thanks,
bob

Keep in mind that some illustrations may be of preproduction tractors.

Hi Jim,
Yes, I do expect that. I'm always interested in how things evolve, so seeing anything pre-production that was changed before they started rolling off the line is interesting to me. As an engineer we always hate to lock down a design for production, as things constantly change and get better. It's a complicated process, but I understand why most would not care about it. Thanks for you reply.
regards,
bob
