Just bought an A-295A two bottom plow. My question is what kind of moldboard and shares is on this???

Also I've seen the A-295 had 2 types of beams on them. Plz help identify if these are the old or newer/bigger beams.

That’s called a “slat moldboard”. They were made to have less friction but don’t work well in all soil types.

Plow chief slatwing, you will need part numbers off of the back of share to find more info. They work well in sticky soil like clay. That type of moldboard was common in our area, we have red clay.

Here in South Mississippi we have red clay to loamy red clay mix.

Doesn't the slatwing use less horse power to pull because it has less drag/resistance to the soil being turned because less surface area compared to full moldboards.

Looked it up and it is the later model. Has 2" beams so it was made after 1952. The pre-53's had 1.75" beams. The coulters don't turn (one rotates 1/4 turn) I'll take them apart and see what's wrong.

Thanks, found em in PO-4 manual in PDF manuals. They have replaceable points on them too.
