That is a very nice looking Farmall 140 Shane. It follows the options of a 1970 model with the key on/off, pushbutton start, and cartridge oil filter. Those all changed in mid-1972 I believe. The attachments are a very good find and very much worth restoring!! Feel free to call or email should you have any questions about the tractor or attachments. It has new tires, very clean and straight, newer aftermarket seat cushions..........I bet it'll run good and smooth!! I have/had too many that did to not have faith in that one!!

Very Nice!! I think I might have a few of those double side dresser setups after seeing yours. Never have seen what they looked like up close. Was thinking they fit a 2-row tractor, but now I'm thinking they are the double row units. Hmm.....I'm gonna need to investigate more now.

I got the hood straightened out yesterday and got the muffler back straight. His son told me his dad used to come from the tobacco field pulling a load of tobacco with 2 helpers sitting on the hood, it was a little caved in but came back out nice. The more I look at this tractor I think I may just rewire it and fix any leaks and leave it original. You can’t buy that original look.

How'd you get that hood so straight and flush fitting?? I never have any luck with the spring hooks holding them down nice and tight. I've got one now that is a little bowed (from someone sandblasting it, yes I know I wasn't there). It was sitting upright and I believe when he sandblasted it the force of the blaster combined with heat, bowed it a little. I thought that once installed it would sit flat, but it doesn't sit quite flush. Tried bending it back but it didn't really help.

I also have had a couple hoods with the dent on the top from someone riding to the 'baccer fields, or from the extra bag of fertilizer sitting on the hood; and didn't have much luck straightening them out.......mainly because I'm too scared I'll make it worse.

I've actually got one holder that is too tight. I need to bend the little arm down and let some tension off. It actually pulled the hood in on one side. I used wooden blocks and a big hammer. The hood is thick enough as long as you use wood on both sides it'll be okay. I put the middle crease on the welding table edge and bent it just a tad by hand to get it back and went from there.

For some reason my pictures rotated when uploaded. They aren't like that on my phone. Tried to rotate them, but couldn't get it done. Sorry about that. If you click the picture and open it larger, it views the right orientation.

Yeah, I've tried that method and I guess I am not "encouraging" the metal enough. Don't really get anywhere with doing that, but like I said....I'm just scared I'm gonna put more dents in the metal or bend it worse.

Pulled the carb off tonight and had to take the air cleaner off to get the carb off. Something drank all the oil in the cup. That or it may have a hole in it.

I know this tractor hasn't been painted since it left the factory. I got to scraping on this carb and it had red paint under all this mess.

This tractor has been sitting for 10+ years. I looked in the gas tank before we bought it and the tank has about 3" of gas in it and no rust. Last night before I took the carb off I checked and the gas has been on for that long so I turned it off. This has got to be the cleanest carb inside I've ever taken apart.

Congrats on getting the '70 140. Nice tractor. I agree with your decision to not repaint it. Original work clothes will be a nice alternative.

As with others, I'll be watching your progress. Thanks for taking us along for the ride. :tractor:
