Need help with my A’s L503
So my l503 needs a spindle. I’m having a heck of a time finding a replacement spindle and I don’t have a press to try and rebuild it. Does anyone know if the l59 or l306 spindles are the same? Anyone know of a rebuilding service? Or where to get a new spindle from some aftermarket company?

If you have an independent auto shop or two in your area, chances are they have a press. Probably only charge you a few bucks to do it.

Re: Need help with my A’s L503
I have a L503 on a 140. Originally, I thought it was a L59 but later found out that it was not. After hitting something with it while mowing the middle blade broke in two and the spindle shaft broke out of the housing. There are two sizes of shafts, middle and left are longer than the right. If I remember correctly at that time 5 years ago shafts were not readily available, but I did locate a new complete assembly. A dealer in the Midwest had it and received it in a day or two. Price was very high, but it bolted right up with the exception of the grease fitting was not aligned with the existing hole. It required drilling a new hole and plugging the old one. It has been working fine every year since then and the shock of the price has been spread out over time. If the shaft and housing are in good condition, then all you may need are bearings and seals which are available. Of course, some way of pressing the parts out and back in.

Ok so researching parts diagrams
L59 and l306 are the same
L59/l306 have the same spindle bearings and pulley hub bearing part number
The blades are 20 3/16 vs 20 1/4 so super close
Shaft height is the unknown along with the bolt pattern. If it’s simply drilling deck holes I dont care.
Anyone have a l59 they can measure to see how far “up” the shaft protrudes?
