Gear Shift Knob

Postby BohemianJon » Mon Sep 25, 2017 8:57 pm

I know I saw something about this somewheres here but I can't find it...SO...before I screw something up...what's the best way to replace my old hard rubber Gear Shift Rod Top Knob...or where do I look? It has a little hole in the top but I'm not sure how it should be used and before I strip something I thought it best to ask...Thanks!

Just pull the old one off and push a new one on. Of course, you may want to clean up the top of the shift lever and paint it while you have the knob off. Use a drop of dishwashing liquid to lube the new one. It will go on easier.

Best place to buy one is from TM Tractor (one of our sponsors). Link to TM Tractor here (knob on second row): http://www.tmtractor.com/new/tr/tr_001newparts.htm

Many THANKS...Thought there might be some sort of set screw in that hole that I might have to contend with. Appreciate the guidance!!!

Is the Lo Boy supposed to have this knob? My 58 doesn't and I assumed it was due to the limited space under the Deluxe seat. Thanks.
