assuming the necessary steps have been taken to remove the crankshaft pulley we will begin with the seal in the front engine cover.
Removing the seal can be done many different ways.................
if you have a seal puller they work verry well
it can be removed by using a small chisel to dent the sise in and pry it out with a screw driver
or you can make a seal puller by putting a sharp 90 degree bend on the end of a small peice of steel stock to pull it out.
if you have the front cover removed just knock it out fron the inside
clean the opening lube the opening for the new seal set the seal in place and tap it it in evenly
most of the crank pulleys have a worn groove in them where the old seal was riding so when ordering the seal get the one with the sleeve.
here the sleeve is set in place to be installed
and here we have a Master press operator applying the correct amount of pressure to push the sleeve on with out damaging it.
here we have the new wear sleeve installed and ready for installing the pulley back on the engine
The sleeve installation tool is another one of the excellant products of Bill poore and his friend EArl the Machinist.
