Checking generator and voltage reg.

Postby Boss Hog » Thu Nov 30, 2006 9:54 pm

This is what I rigged up to check gen. and reg. before I install them on cub
Image
It is just an old washing machine motor mounted to a piece of plywood
with a gen. mounted to the other side

Here you can see where it is wired up. Wire going from gen terminal on reg. to Armature terminal on gen.
Wire going from Field terminal on reg. to Field terminal on gen.
wire going from Bat. terminal on reg. to neg. side of amp. guage

wire going from pos. side of amp. guage to switch to Battery in floor

Wire going from mounting bolt on reg. to gen. groung to pos. terminal of battery in floor.

This is a pic of it running

This makes it very easy to adjust before you install on cub

BE SURE AND TOUCH WIRE FROM BAT TERMINAL ON REG> TO GEN> OR ARMATURE TERMINAL ON REG FOR A Split sec. to polarise it
