Welcome to the forum..
carb is easy to take apart but BE SURE to pull the top half straight so you don't break the idle tube. Do not buy a cheap kit if you are rebuilding it. Spray the brake pedals with P B Blaster, Kroil or your favorite penetrating oil. (NOT WD 40).
Clean points and re set 013 for magneto 020 for distributor.
Post more questions in the main f cub forum. Have fun with your new cub.

Welcome to the forum!
If you don't have an Owner's Manual, I'd suggest downloading it from the PDF Manuals link at the top of your screen first and become familiar with it. The manual has most of the useful info you'll need.
Be sure to prime the oil pump before starting.
As Mike suggested, if you have any questions you cannot find through a SEARCH of this site or in the Manual, start a new post over in the Farmall Cub sub-forum. I take it when you wrote that gas leaked out the "ball", you meant the glass fuel bowl located under the gas tank. The Manual will help you with terminology and identifying Cub parts.
Again, congrats on inheriting your grandfather's Cub and welcome.
