Hi everyone,
I recently picked up a 1954 Cub with cultivators. The machine was dry when I looked at it and now after running it awhile it is all wet with oil. Looks like the main front seal is weeping enough that I have to put a pan under it to collect the drips.
This is more than I bargained for but it's going to be fun trying to get it right. Are there any other Cub owners in NJ?
I'll be around the forum and checking out all the other posts that might be of interest.
Thanks for reading,
Dean

Re: New owner 1954 Cub
Welcome to the forum. Replacing the front main involves supporting the main body and removing the front bolster, axle radiator assembly (can be removed as a single piece). Then you need a puller designed for the pulley, just using a 2 or 3 jaw puller will break the pulley, not may break, will break. Once the pulley is off you may find it to be grooved where the seal runs, in which case you will need a speedy sleeve.
If you are not part of the solution,
you are part of the problem!!!
