New Kentucky member, father worked at the plant
I am a new Kentucky member that just bought a 72 Cub in memory of my father. He worked at the Louisville Works from 1960-1984 when they closed. He worked in many parts of the plant including running the Forge Shop and finished as a General Foreman in Dept 67. He helped get his brother hired in 1962 and he became the top tool and die maker, creating the casting for the 1972 Cub Cadet statues. I am very proud of my heritage having visited the plant many times but only recently realizing how important these tractors have been to the farming industry. With the help of Ken 48, my brother in law, I purchased a 1972 Cub from Dusty B. that both my Father and Uncle where part of producing. I look forward to learning more and meeting you at the events!

Welcome to the Forum. Any chance you have some pictures of the factory while your dad or uncle worked there?

Re: New Kentucky member, father worked at the plant
I wish I had some pictures but I was only 12-14 years old when I was out there. I just asked my uncle if he had any but he didn't. He was responsible for making the press die's for the 1974 Cadet statue and he has some of the first ones made he will pass my way. I'll be sure to bring them to a show. I remember picking a pair of those from a big bin during the family open house in 74. My 3 brothers all have a pair as well.

Re: New Kentucky member, father worked at the plant
We drove over Saturday and got it! I already have it hanging on the tractor but have not run it yet. It is in exceptional shape! Ken and i enjoyed meeting Dale and hearing his farming stories from his 500 acres. He had some interesting tractors and lots of other stuff. I appreciate your posting the lead!
