Hello all! Just joined the Cub club and am looking forward to buying my first one in the week to follow hopefully!
I grew up spending my summers on a farm in Lamar County Alabama seeing my grandfather's Farmall 100 in use. Now it's my time to take over some of that land and have decided to purchase a cub to keep grass down and do some food plot planting with.
I look forward to reading all the useful info and being part of the club. I do so love the look of the old classics! This world needs more of my generation and younger trying to return to yesteryears ( I am 45 btw )

WELCOME! Good luck on your "hunt" for a Cub. Personally I think that is the most fun/exciting part of these guys!
That and Cubfests!! You are only a tad over 4 hours from a great one - Deep South Cub Fest (DSCF) - each year in Sneads, FL. It's usually the first one of the year, and is a lot of fun! If you possibly can, you should go next year...you would meet some great forum folks, and can learn a lot about these tractors. And if you are having problems with yours, you can bring it and get help from a bunch of very knowledgeable and friendly people!

As you go looking at Cubs, you might review some articles regarding inspections, such as this one from the links above:
Board Index > under How To Forum > Cub Book of Knowledge > (again) Cub Book of Knowledge (has descriptions of each section) > In the Library > All About Inspecting a Cub for Purchase > click on the link.
Or you can just click below, but you won't know where it came from, and may not find it again when you want it!!!

NOTE: I am a firm believer, after a career in aviation, that the important thing is not knowing everything about a subject, but knowing WHERE TO FIND everything about that subject!!!!

Another great Cubfest is LA Cubfest at Bogalusa, LA usually the first week of March.

Thanks for all the great replies! My dad and I actually have found one, we meet the wonderful owner who is only the second owner of the cub and even has the original manual that came with it, '53. Picking it up this Friday, can't wait for my time with the fun.

Re: Hello from new member from Birmingham, Al
Yippee!! Another Cub person! Just be careful, they do become quite addictive! Last week I picked up a Woods 42 that was a price I couldn't pass up. The problem is that I really don't have a Cub to put it under! I made a comment today, that maybe I need to start looking for my 4th Cub!!! At least one is down for some problem at any given time, and one has the fasthitch thus no belly mower, so with 8-10 acres of pasture to mow, it helps to have the spare.
Hope you have fun with yours, and look forward to meeting you at a cubfest!
