I didn't see the "Introduce Yourself" forum when I jumped in to ask about the Cub I brought home last Sunday. I was too focused on trying to get info to identify what it was. Sorry about that. I was being a little self indulgent. I got great help though.
This looks like a great forum and has a lot of members.
I live about 13 miles from downtown Boston Massachusetts, and grew up even closer. The only tractor I ever saw was at a 4H event, parade, or the plastic one in my toy box as a child. I have no idea why I find the Farmall Cub so fascinating now.
I am on the down side of a mediocre career as an underground troubleshooter of what was Boston Edison when I started 30 years ago. (no tractors under the city either). I am looking forward to retirement in the near future and am currently a training coordinator.
I may need some suggestions about how to convince my wife that I REALLY need this tractor. When I checked out what it was designed for I found it was ideal for the small 40 acre farm. Where I live I will be limited to the back 40 feet of land that doesn't grow grass well.
I already told her "It's older than me, has done more work, starts faster than I do, and performs better" (she agreed with that part), so why wouldn't she want to keep it?
I also have to learn how to navigate and use the features of the board which has come a long way from the days when I used to host an electronic bulletin board (BBS) on fidonet.
Anyway, I look forward to learning from all of you and will do my best not to fall off or roll over as I enjoy the new toy.

Welcome, Don... from another Don. You should plan to attend Cubfest Northeast in Kinderhook, NY on 10, 11 & 12 October. And bring your Cub, if you have a way to move it. Otherwise, just bring yourself and your wife. She will learn why all us old farts own these little tractors.

Welcome neighbor.... There is a whole lot you can do with Cubs and it's a lot cheaper that other 'mid life' toys.

Re: New Cub Owner
I am still a Mass Ave guy. I spent many long hours over there at Edgar station. Both in the station and in the tunnel under the Fore River.
We have a few Grid guys here at Mass Ave in the training group.
Looks like we may be headed back to Cecil's for the October Cubfest. Will you be attending?
