"New" Cub Owner in Windham, NH

Postby ffwilliam » Sat May 10, 2014 11:44 pm

Hi there. My name is Bill, and am a Firefighter here in NH. I recently acquired a 1968 International Cub. It is all yellow. It sat untouched for the last 30 years in my Uncle's barn. Well, I replaced battery and tried to turn over but it just cranked so I replaced the pts, dist cap, condenser, plugs, and coil. Started up and purred better than my F250. I mean it. Like a clock. My buddies and I all rode her around the yard with big smiles on our faces. I absolutely love it. Got a plate so I could take it on road and took a 4 mile ride, loving the attention. My generator belt broke, but other than that everything seems fantastic. Oh yeah..I did notice a small drip from radiator.....will try some type of sealant. I hope I get to talk to some of you who own this model. I'm so excited about getting some implements to run off the PTO.

Welcome to the Forum. You'll find a lot of friendly and knowledgeable Cub lovers here. If you haven't already done so, you can click on "PDF manuals" in the toolbar above that will lead you to owners/operators and service manuals showing routine maintenance for your Cub. Any questions, ask away.

Hello Bill, Welcome to the forum. You should get many years of service from that Cub, it was only used for 15 years,

PS. Oil the fan hub and generator, grease the throw out bearing and distributor.
