Hi, I'm John from Louisiana and I bought my first yellow and white cub with a belly mower and I'm going back this weekend to pick up an older red one with a disc and cultivator. Not sure on years and what not yet. They had been sitting in a barn for about the past ten years. Got it home, flushed the fuel, charged the battery and checked the oil, and it fired right up, even cut the grass in the back yard. Everything functions and works properly. I will still change all my fluids, belts, and throw on a new seat. Can't wait to go pick up the other one this Saturday!!! I will post some pics when I get home later.

John,
Welcome aboard!
Sounds like everything went well. After sitting for so long I hope you checked to make sure you had oil pressure. Quite often the pump loses prime and the engine will seize.

Take some time to read through the owners manuals (available here on the top row link) and get aquainted with the lubrication guide.

Good luck.
Peter

John, Welcome to the Forum. I hope you enjoy your Cubs as much as we do ours. Several great Cubbers in Louisiana. If you have any questions, feel free to ask away.

Bob

Actually before I started it I wiped the dirt off the gauge and once running she was pushing the needle all the way up!
