4th Generation Cub Owner From Michigan

Postby DaYooper » Tue Jun 19, 2012 4:40 pm

Hey Everyone,

My names Zach, 23 years old and I'm from Newberry, Michigan, way up in Michigan's Upper Peninsula (God's Country). Was looking for parts for a rebuild of my 52 Cub when I stumbled across this page. The tractor was bought brand new in 1952 (the year my dad was born) by my Great Grandpa. Then as everyone can imagine, it was passed down through the generations to me. Just did 4 years in the Marine Corps and it's a nice little project to work on with my dad now that I'm home. She still runs like a top, cosmetics just need to be touched up. Will post pictures soon. Thanks in advance for all the information.

Zack:

BZ for your service to your country, military service is highest calling any citizen can answer. Glad you are going to be able to share the Cub time with your Dad. Having a family heirloom such as your Cub puts an extra level of richness to it. Savour all the time you and your Dad get to spend together. Suggest following the links below.

Great to have a Marine vet with a true family Cub aboard!

I know what a Yooper is. I guess my nephew is sorta one, born in St Ignace. Used to camp over your way when I was a kid and I went fishing off DeTour once (caught a nice fish too).

Cowboy has a place up there but I think he is the other side of I 75. He is a great guy!

Welcome!

Welcome aboard and thank you for your service. I'm in the CG, going on 13 years now. I was stationed in Sturgeon Bay, WI, but spent a lot of time in Escanaba, St. Ignace, and Sault Ste. Marie. Spent a lot of time going back and forth through the Straits of Mackinac breaking ice too...

Anyway, I'm glad you found this site. There is tons on knowledge here. You'll get all the facts you need, plus some opinions too! I can definitely say this site has helped me out a time or two.

Cheers!
