My grandfather purchased our 48 cub new and it has been sitting for the last 20 years. Cracked cast iron lower radiator housing, low compression, etc.
i finally retired and have some time to get at it. Pulled the front end last weekend and am trying to get the rest apart. Will need some machine shop help removing the pin holding the axle. Not sure where the best place to purchase all the part since i will need MANY.

Welcome to the website.
If you mean you can't get the pivot pin in the middle of the front axle out, it should come out without much problem.
Remove the 2 bolts that lock it in, there is a bolt near each end of the pin. The bolts have to be fully out of the holes, there are notches in the pin, and the bolts lock the pin in place.
Then use a shaft a little smaller than the pin and hammer the pin out to the rear.
Below are pictures.
The 1st pic shows the front bolt, and the end of the pin about in the middle of the pic.
The 2nd pic, from TM Tractor Parts, shows the pivot pin and the notches in it. There is a washer at each end of the pin, near the bolts, be sure to put them in again.
The people on here say that TM Tractor Parts at the bottom of the page is a good place to buy parts.
If you need a used steering gear housing, and radiator lower tank, they are made together, they say J P Tractor Salvage at the bottom of the page has good service.
There is also Hamilton Bob's at the bottom of the page.

Have you removed the two pinch bolts? If so, carefully drive a small chisel or screwdriver into the gaps to spread the casting a very little bit. A liberal application of your favorite penetrant might help too.

Used parts, such as the front bolster you’re going to need, contact JP Tractor Salvage, also link at the bottom of the page. These are both excellent suppliers and sponsors of this forum. Thanks to everyone for your quick response. I did not remove the two pinch bolts, just made them loose enough to push the pin out or so i thought. This would be the reason for joining this site.

when you push the pin out, make sure you have the axle weight supported. If the weight shifts to one end of the pin, you risk breaking the tube the pin runs through off the axle tube.
