Hello, I purchased a 1960 140 two years ago to maintain 6 acres of my original homestead that came back to me. Originally we had two Cubs and in the 1970's acquired a late 1940's Super A. It was used to mow the fields, plow snow and the garden. My father sold it late in life and the place became run down and overgrown without it. I knew from experience that a tractor of that size was needed to maintain the place. The 140 came with a Woods L59 and other maintenance and repair issues but it did run. Since then here is a list of attachments that have been purchased; 1-A-60 Blade, 193 Moldboard Plow, 6 foot dics,6 foot spring tooth harrow(these two are old horse drawn attachments),4 foot Woods Cadet Brush Hog, HK95 three point hitch(Tractor came with a drawbar, three point attachments are easier to come by here than Fast Hitch type), King Cutter reversible dirt scoop. All of these attachments were purchased locally and were reasonably priced. Also last winter after a lot of researching a BH5600 backhoe attachment was delivered. It cost as much as what was invested in the setup so far. I was able to use it for cleaning out a small run that feeds the old pond. It did do the job. The attachment has a six foot reach and weighs about 500 lbs. There was no problem with the tractor's horsepower to operate it. I did have to have the push blade mounted on the front and even placed some solid cement blocks on it to keep the front end down. Best to travel slow with it. I plan on using it for trenching the utilities for a home when that time comes. I am one happy owner of the 140 and have been able to replace and repair anything that was needed so far. I will try to post more in the future. Thank You

Sounds like quite the setup, both homestead and tractor. Post some (reduced-size!) photos when you get a chance...we do love pictures!! :D

Welcome! :hattip:

Welcome to the Forum!

Take some time and read through a few threads to acquaint yourself with the Forum:

Don't have a lot of manuals for the 140, but now that you’ve logged your 2nd post, you'll have access to the all the PDF Manuals on this site. There’s a few ways to do that:
  • From a desktop or laptop, go to "Quick Links" in the upper left corner of your screen. Hit that and a pull-down appears where you'll find "PDF Manuals".
  • You can also go to “Cub Info” in the upper toolbar, then hit “Rudi’s Manuals”. From there, you can access a variety of information.
  • If you're using a phone, go to the "Links Directory" (second category down the main page). Once in "Links Directory" , scroll down to the second section "Tractor Parts & Manuals" and you'll find them there.

We’d encourage you to take the Safety Test located in the Safety Forum: http://farmallcub.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?f=33&t=68084

Take some pictures of your tractor and post them, we’d like to see them.

Remember:
• When you have a specific question, start a new thread in the appropriate sub-forum.
• Before posting, use the Preview button before hitting Submit--it'll show you exactly what your post will look like, including pictures.
• When adding your comments to a thread, be sure to look at the date of the last poster. If it’s more than a 6 months old, the posters are probably not going to see it. Consider starting a new thread.

Glad you joined us.

Welcome to the forum ! Gotta like a guy who's first post helps a guy who's been on it for 10+ years. :)
Thank you again for that BTW.
:hattip:
Ok, now on your above post, did I read that right? Did you mount a backhoe on your 140 ???
Oh, I've got to hear more about that! Of course we'll all want to see pictures too. ;)
