Hemp farm cub

Postby BoxElderBoy » Sat Jul 06, 2019 10:08 am

New member in CO. Figuring out the posting system. Trying to get my newly acquired 1949 cub ready to cultivate 60 acres of cod hemp. Changing fluids and trying to ease the geriatric aches and pains of a machine almost as old as me. This is my second cub. I let the first one get away as I didn’t realize how useful it would be some day.

I would appreciate hearing from cumbersome with experience and suggestions regarding under the belly cultivating. I could probably use some sources of parts for the cultivator.

The cub joins a stable of heavy iron including a Kubota M110x, a MF175, a JD 2510 and an IH 826 Hydro (noisy as sin but gets the job done - works great on the tobacco harvester for cutting the hemp)

Welcome to the forum. Looks like you are only 30 miles from Bob McCatry. Bob is host of the Rocky Mountain cub fest, in September.

Welcome to the forum. I'm sure Bob will be along with a welcome as well. He is in Longmont. Several of us will be there for his CubFest.
There are two ways to get enough Cubs. One is to continue to accumulate more and more. The other is to desire less.

Welcome Kerry. Glad to see you finally got on the Forum. Upper left (under the Cub) you can click on "Quick Links", then on "PDF Manuals", then on "Farmall Cub", then on "Cub Attachments" and you'll find the 144 cultivator manual.

Welcome!

Take some time and read through a few threads to acquaint yourself with the Forum:

As Bob stated, now that you have 2 posts, you can access all the free PDF downloads in the Manuals section. They are located via "Quick Links" in the upper left corner of your screen. Hit that and a pull-down appears where you'll find "PDF Manuals". Through that link, you'll be able to download an Owner's Manual (very strongly recommended) and any service manuals that interest you. You'll be able to familiarize yourself with your new-to-you Cub more quickly. Implement Manuals are also available.

Might also enjoy reading through this thread: What to do with a Cub you just brought home

Here's a link to one of our site sponsors with pictures of Cub cultivator setups (scroll down to bottom of page):

Take some pictures of your tractor and post them. We’d like to see it.

Glad you joined us.
