Would like to start out by thanking all the posters on the site. I have been reading up a lot before breaking down and joining the conversation.
I bought my first farmall two years ago and have been fighting with the old girl ever since. I live about 2 hrs from my camp, where she resides, so my experience was long and arduous. What started off as a blown throw out bearing, began my adventures in “ getting to know my tractor”.
While splitting my tractor I descided to do a routine tuneup ( plugs, wires, oil , etc.), from that day on, the old girl wouldn’t run for more than 5 min without dying. I replaced points, re-jetted the card, replaced the carb, re wired, installed electronic ignition, coil replacement ( twice), new plug wires, 12v upgrade..... then a wonderful post on this site gave me the informing needed in purchasing the CORRECT spark plugs. 5 min later, she’s running like a top.
