New member from South Louisiana. Greetings...

Postby coon » Tue Feb 26, 2019 2:57 pm

Good afternoon, folks! Happy I found this forum. I'm "inheriting" an IH cub from my father-in-law along with a few acres he and my mother in law have given us. I know it hasn't run in 10+ years but it's been garage kept. Looking forward to cleaning it up and getting it going again. I don't have the details on the exact model yet. I love old tractors and working on things and I previously rebuilt a 1956 Ford tractor with my grandpa so I'm looking forward to doing the same (or at least getting this one running) with my dad and my sons.

Thanks!

Thanks! In addition to this site, my wife's uncle, who lives two houses down, has the same make and model and is well versed in care and maintenance. I'll be able to lean on him for assistance as well.

I want to echo Coppersmythe's suggestion to attend a Cubfest, and that one should be pretty close...you would really enjoy it, meeting a bunch of crazy forum folks, and learning a lot about common problems you may find with your "new-to-you" cub. Like he said, if you were able to take the cub there, odds are you would be able to drive it back onto your trailer. :tractor:

Have fun with it, and welcome!! :hattip:

Welcome to the forum!

Now that you have more than 2 posts, you can access all the manuals on the server. They’re located under the "Quick Links" pull-down menu in the upper left of the screen. Go to "PDF Manuals", then scroll down and select whatever manual interests you. As a new owner of a Cub, we'd suggest downloading the Owner's Manual first and taking some time to read it. Many questions you may have will be answered there. Then, as far as working on your Cub, there are Service Manuals and other information that will be helpful.

We'd also encourage you to read:

Use the "Search" box in the upper right of the screen. It will locate answers to many of your questions. If you can't find the answer, start a new thread over in the Farmall Cub sub-forum.

As Shane suggested, here's a good thread in the How To Forum for new-to-you Cub owners: What to do with a Cub you just brought home

Glad to have you here. Try to attach a picture of your Cub when you can. We'd like to see it.
