Get some of your other casting dates and that will tell you if the block or the front bolster has been changed. The finals may be the easiest to get to and torque tube.

So this unit wouldn't have had the circle "CUB" on it.

If you go by the engine serial number and casting dates, no. If you go by the serial number plate, yes. Your choice if you restore it as to which decals you put on it after all they are just decals.

Oh no, its a well known fact that new paint n decals will increase HP by 2 to 4 Horses , No REALLY!!!

(Ok maybe it just seems like they run better, I like to think my tractors are happier spruced up a bit even if its a little here n there :P )

O.K. thanks. Probably just put on th correct larger hood decals eventually. Tractor looks decent the way it sits. Only glaring thing that sticks out are the front tires. They are a cream color. And, tires are well worn and cracking.

I'm in if new decals give it more power!

Before making it look better needs a few things.
Need to get proper radiator cap. New front tires. Get the front bearings greased. Also, wire up the headlights. Someone cut the wires. I'm thinking it was quick way of removing Good? Any thoughts?

Anyone have any input on transmission noise level? This one whines a little bit. Especially going up an incline. Is that normal? Slight but noticeable.

Thanks.

Whining in 1st and reverse is pretty normal. Mine has been screaming for the 12 years I've owned it. Cut gears, bearings that don't get good lubrication, and water buildup in the transmission case all add to causing the noise.

Headlight wiring is easy to unhook, no need to cut them to remove the hood.
